Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta defends Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham ahead of Super Cup

Both academy graduates endured a baptism of fire at Old Trafford on Sunday as Chelsea were beaten 4-0 by Manchester United in Frank Lampard’s managerial debut in the Premier League.
Lampard started Mount and Abraham to begin his youth-inspired reign at Stamford Bridge, with more experienced players, such as France striker Olivier Giroud, on the bench.

And ahead of the Super Cup clash with Liverpool on Wednesday night – live on talkSPORT – Azpilicueta has thrown his weight behind the young duo, insisting they are both here on merit.
“We trust in them and they’re here because they deserve to be here,” the Spaniard said.
