The Blues put in their best performance of the season last time out, thrashing Crystal Palace 4-0, and they’ll hope to follow it up this weekend with another home victory.

And Lampard has been handed a boost heading into the Premier League clash with Hakim Ziyech fit and ready to feature for Chelsea for the first time.

Winger Ziyech, who joined from Ajax earlier this year, has missed the start of the campaign having picked up a knee injury in pre-season, but he is in contention to make his Blues debut against Saints.

He played 31 minutes for Morocco last Friday and has now returned to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground after an agreement was reached between club and country for him to leave international duty early.

While a start against Southampton is unlikely, Lampard will love to be able to call Ziyech off the bench at Stamford Bridge should the Blues be needing a goal.
