The 35-year-old contracted COVID-19 last week just days after playing for Portugal against France and Spain and he has since been self-isolating at home.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, the forward has again tested positive for COVID for a second time, ruling out a mouth-watering reunion with his old rival Messi.
However, Juventus have slim hopes he may be available for next week’s match, with Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha claiming Ronaldo’s test gave a very low viral load despite returning positive.
It is believed the Serie A club will ask UEFA for permission to test their talismanic forward 48 hours ahead of the game in a bid to make him available for the reunion with Messi on Wednesday.
Despite his second positive test, the former Real Madrid ace appears in high spirits.
On Thursday he posted a picture of himself on social media with a new shaven haircut with the caption: ‘Thursday style’.
