Sophie, from Norwich, died in January at the age of five and Maddison became her friend when she was a mascot for the club during his time at Carrow Road.

Here's how the opening weekend of the Premier League will get under way for the 2019/20 season

“The unbelievably special football boots I will be wearing during the European Championships for England. My best friend always with me @SuperStrongSoph,” he tweeted, thanking Puma for the ‘surprise’.

The boots feature a picture of Sophie, and the words ‘there is a new angel in Heaven’.

There is also a picture of the top he revealed after scoring against Burnley in March, which reads “RIP Sophie I Love You”.
