Major New Japan Pro Wrestling Star Backstage at Raw Last Night

The rumor mill is about to spin and spin until it gets out of control. It is being reported that a major New Japan Pro Wrestling superstar was backstage during last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Numerous photos and videos have surfaced of current IWGP Champion Kazuchika Okada leaving the show last night. Why on earth was Okada at the latest edition of Monday Night Raw? Several fans snapped photos of Okada leaving the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix last night, and it is possible that he may have been there for any number of reasons. The news of Okada attending Raw last night could potentially be a major story if anything does become if it.
Could Okada be singing with  WWE soon? Likely not. Okada has been in the United States for a while now due to a series of New Japan shows that took place in the country over the past week. It seems possible that Okada could have just been attending as a guest, as he has done at events such as NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II last year. With New Japan alumni such as Finn Balor, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows in attendance for Raw backstage, it seems more likely that he was just visiting old friends. He could also be attending tonight’s Smackdown show to meetup with Shinsuke Nakamura as well. Still, what if he wasn’t just meeting friends?
If there is more than meets the eye to this new development, this could be a major pickup for WWE. Okada has said in the past that he has no interest in working with WWE, opting instead to help New Japan Pro Wrestling grow in the United States. Okada is considered to be one of the best wrestlers in the entire industry at the moment, and he has been involved in two different 6-star matches just this year. Okada is currently signed to New Japan, and he likely cannot even legally negotiate with WWE. Make whatever you will of this story, but could Okada be coming to WWE in the future? Well have to wait and see if we hear anything more in the next few months.
