Officiating in England ‘not good enough’ and refs ‘not strong’ says Simon Jordan, as Mark Halsey accuses VAR of ‘re-refereeing games’

Premier League referees were in the spotlight once more over the weekend, especially in the Aston Villa vs Brighton and Manchester United vs West Brom fixtures.
Both games had penalties awarded, only to later be ruled out after VAR reviews and the referee consulting the pitchside monitor.
And former Crystal Palace chairman Jordan believes referees in this country are ‘not strong enough’ to stand up for what they believe is correct.

“The refereeing standard in this country is not good enough,” he said on Monday’s White and Jordan show.
“It’s not strong enough, they don’t have the courage of their convictions.
“The decision-making process [should be] clear and obvious.”
