Shkodran Mustafi will not go to ‘war’ with Arsenal despite Unai Emery’s Premier League snub

The Germany defender made his first appearance of the season in the Gunners’ 3-0 win over Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday.

Mustafi was told he could leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window by manager Unai Emery, who is yet to hand him a single minute of Premier League football this term.
The 27-year-old is currently behind David Luiz, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Calum Chambers in the pecking order at the Emirates.
“I’ve never been someone who begins a war when something doesn’t work out,” Mustafi said.
“I always said, ‘If it is possible, I am open to take the next step. If not, I keep playing my football’.
